Compresson is analogous to Negative Charge.

Expansion is analogous to Positive Charge.

Bending & Twisting are agalogous to the Magnetic Field.

A larger separation between planes is analogous to a positive charge.

A smaller separation between planes is analogous to a negative charge.

Any bending or twisting of a plane is analogous to the magnetic field.

A counter-clockwise twist (looking from side to center) is analogous to a North Magnetic Pole.

A clockwise twist (looking from side to center) is analogous to a South Magnetic Pole.

Using elasticity as an analogy for electromagnetism, a negative point charge with spin 1/2 might look something like this.

Using elasticity as an analogy for electromagnetism, a positive point charge with spin 1/2 might look something like this.
